Features advanced VVC+ (Voltage Vector Control) for precise motor control and energy efficiency.

Communication protocols

Commonly includes built-in Modbus RTU, with options for other industrial protocols like BACnet, PROFINET, and Ethernet/IP.

Enclosure rating

Typically offered with IP20 (chassis) or IP54 (cabinet mount) protection, suitable for indoor plant room environments.

Filtering

Often includes integrated DC chokes and RFI filters to meet EMC standards for industrial and commercial use.

Ambient operating temperature

Units of this type are generally designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -10°C to +50°C.

• What is a VLT FC102 HVAC Drive used for?

It is specifically designed for controlling motors in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) applications, such as pumps, fans, and compressors, to optimise energy use and system performance.

• Can this drive be integrated into an existing building management system (BMS)?

• What are the typical energy savings associated with using an HVAC drive?

• Is specialist knowledge required for commissioning this drive?

• What maintenance is typically required for a VLT FC102 drive?

HVAC drives and controllers are valued for reliable temperature and humidity regulation in controlled laboratory environments. Buyers typically prioritise units with precise calibration history and minimal downtime records. When purchasing used equipment, inspecting control boards, sensor functionality and documentation of maintenance schedules proves essential. These systems gain strong reputation for durability when properly serviced, though older models may lack advanced digital interfaces. Compatibility with existing facility infrastructure remains a common purchasing consideration.
