ELEKTRA IE2 Motor

• Driving pumps and fans in HVAC systems.
• Powering conveyors and material handling equipment.
• Operating mixers and agitators in processing plants.
• Actuating compressors and other utility machinery.
• Providing motive power for general industrial automation tasks.

Typical power output

IE2 motors commonly range from 0.75 kW to 375 kW, with smaller units like this one typically found at the lower end of that spectrum.

Efficiency class

IE2 (High Efficiency), as per IEC 60034-30-1, indicating improved energy performance over standard efficiency motors.

Voltage

For this class of equipment, common industrial voltages include 400V, 415V, or 690V, often in a three-phase configuration. The listed unit specifies 60Hz, which is less common in the UK but can be accommodated with appropriate power conversion.

Frequency

While the listed unit is 60Hz, motors for the UK market are typically 50Hz. Compatibility with existing infrastructure should be verified.

Mounting type

Common mounting types for IE2 motors include B3 (foot mounted), B5 (flange mounted), or B14 (face mounted), depending on the application.

Enclosure protection

Typically IP55, offering protection against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, suitable for most industrial environments.

Frame size

Frame sizes vary with power output, but for a 1.27 kW motor, a compact frame size would be expected, impacting its physical footprint.

• What does 'IE2' signify for this motor?

IE2 stands for 'High Efficiency' according to the IEC 60034-30-1 standard. It indicates that the motor meets specific efficiency requirements, leading to lower energy consumption compared to less efficient models.

• Can a 60Hz motor be used in a 50Hz UK power supply environment?

• What maintenance is typically required for an IE2 motor?

• Is this motor suitable for continuous operation?

• What are the common benefits of using an IE2 motor?

Power supplies and switch units for labs, biotech and pharma facilities are valued for their reliability and precision voltage regulation. Buyers typically prioritize robust build quality and consistent performance when purchasing used models. Industry sentiment favors units with clear maintenance histories and intact safety certifications. Key considerations include output specifications matching application requirements, remaining component lifespan, and compatibility with existing facility infrastructure. Reputable units from established manufacturers generally command confidence in laboratory and production environments.
